Another Successful Symposium
IDM hosted the 2015 Modeling Symposium in Bellevue, WA on April 20-22. On Day 1, attendees visited the IDM offices for 3 sessions of Developer Insights. Some participants had a hands-on opportunity to learn EMOD, IDM’s Epidemiological MODeling software, from the ground up, then move on to heterogeneous and spatial modeling. Others attended the presentations introducing COMPS, IDM’s COMputational Platform Service, a ground-breaking online tool for modeling infectious diseases.
Days 2 and 3, at the Hyatt-Regency in Bellevue, were the Researcher Insights sessions. Modelers and researchers from all over the world presented talks on modeling and eradicating malaria, polio, TB, HIV, VPDs, and many other diseases. Day 3 wrapped up with a final session for developers on using EMOD’s reporting features.
IDM would like to thank all those who attended. Your participation, collaboration, and continued feedback are invaluable in the effort to improve the tools needed to eradicate infectious disease.
