Dylan George, PhD, is Deputy Director of the Institute for Disease Modeling at the Gates Foundation, where he leads the application of data, analytics, and modeling to do what matters: save lives from infectious diseases and protect mothers and babies.
A pioneer in epidemic intelligence, he was the founding Director of the CDC’s Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics, where he built the first U.S. capability dedicated to real-time infectious disease forecasting and outbreak analytics.
Over a 25-year career across public service, academia, and venture innovation, Dylan has held senior positions at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, BARDA, the U.S. Department of Defense, and In-Q-Tel. He has been instrumental in shaping national approaches to health security, biotechnology, and advanced analytics. His work sits at the intersection of public health and innovation, transforming complex data into timely, trusted insights that empower leaders and communities to respond to emerging threats.
